Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, at Puy-deDomme, France on the 9th of August 1976. She is the oldest child in a family of four. She was encouraged by her parents, dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to follow her love of acting. It was in stark contrast to an earlier desire to be a primatologist due to the fact that she adored monkeys. Her rise to fame as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by early success. Following her graduation and acting, she appeared on the French talent-spotting TV show Jeunes Premiers which was backed by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her professional career as an actor. Although she studied at The Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has stayed away from the Catholic tradition, saying that she's not Catholic. Neben her acting, Tautou took up modeling and was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. In the past, during the Arles Arts Festival, she showed the collection of her photographs with the title Superficial. In her photographs, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. Cameras are focused towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first major role starring in the role of Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie is a box office hit internationally and praised at many award festivals around the globe. It's the biggest French film in the history of French language to be made on the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou was later cast in a variety of films, such as British dramatics, such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
